How We Personalize the CrossFit Group Experience for Long Term Success

At CrossFit MetroEast we coach people every step of the way, every time they work with us. It is through this personalized coaching experience that we are able to keep people accomplishing their goals for long term health. This is done in a one on one setting or in one of our group class options. But even those in our group classes have a one on one experience prior to starting classes.

Our most popular group classes are our Group CrossFit and Legends (55+) programs. Both programs offer multiple class times each week where clients participate in functional strength and conditioning workouts. These workouts are directed by coaches who tailor each workout template to the client’s individual needs.

But how do we do that?

Initial Consult

Any prospective client starts in a personal experience with us from day one. This begins with an initial consultation. This free appointment is an conversation where we discuss your goals, and why you want to accomplish them. It is in this consultation where we will provide a prescription to help you reach the goals you have. There are times that what we offer may not align with what a prospective client is looking for. It is in these moments we aim to provide any help we can to point the individual in the direction of a solution that may be best for them. It is important that we are the right fit for someone, but it’s even more important that the individual feels that we helped in some way – even if that doesn’t result in them starting a plan with us.

Mechanics

Every group client we work with starts with initial introductory one on one sessions. We call these sessions our Mechanics sessions because our primary focus is to teach appropriate mechanics of exercise while also learning how the client’s body moves through those mechanics. These sessions allow us to build a base of knowledge for both the client and the coach so that we can continue to effectively coach them in the group classes they plan to attend.

Once these sessions are completed the coach provides our staff with a report of what to expect when working with the client. This includes movement modification needs, injury adjustments, and the client’s physical condition. These full team reports help our clients have the best transition into group classes regardless of which class they plan to attend.

Customized Coaching and Check Ins

Once you’re in our group classes the personal experience doesn’t stop there. Our group class workouts are built as a template to follow. Our group coaches then work tirelessly to customize each template to fit each client’s needs and goals. This can be through selecting the correct movement modification, equipment, or weight. We also adjust based on injuries or issues that may be occurring. Our clients are told, “just show up, we’ll take care of the rest”.

But what if you don’t show up? We’ll help with that too. Our designated Client Success Manager checks in with our clients who may have slipped out of their routine a bit. We get it, life happens, but we want to help you accomplish your goals through it. We don’t believe your fitness should ever be at zero, so our Client Success Manager helps you stay accountable to your goals even when life gets in the way. Sometimes that might just be an encouraging phone call or text, but our clients know we’re always here to help them.

But wait there’s more!

Much like we get that life happens, things change too. If your fitness plan can’t adapt to new goals and new seasons of life, you’re going to quit. We have clients who have been with us for over 12 years and to say that life hasn’t changed a bit over the last decade would be a lie. So how do we navigate those changes? Each of our clients have a Success Coach who they meet with on a quarterly basis for a goal review. These goal reviews are exactly what they sound like. We review the client’s current goals, celebrate victories, navigate challenges, and then make adjustments to their plan when needed. It is through these quarterly check ins that we have been able to keep our clients moving even as life’s seasons have changed.

So yea, we run group classes at CrossFit MetroEast, but each one of those classes are filled with individual people, with individual goals and needs. It’s through the process above that we deliver that individual experience.

If that sounds like something you’d like to experience, you can book that first conversation HERE.
