Dumbbells and kettlebells have been a staple in the gym for quite sometime. Actually, the first sign of the term kettlebell dates back to the 1700s, but it’s even been found that a precursor to today’s kettlebell might date back to the ancient Greeks with a swingable weighted object called a haltere. Even though these pieces of equipment have been around since the early days of exercise, it seems they can get left out of a lot of training programs. In this week’s episode of a series we’re calling The MetroEast Way, Coach Sam and Coach Josh dive into why they believe the use of kettlebells and dumbbells improve client results. They breakdown why dumbbells help beginners and more advanced clients increase strength, improve adherence, decrease injuries, and promote lifelong fitness.
